This sangiovese has a spicy perfume of cinnamon, anise and leather from the barrel aging that integrates with the varietal aromas of cherry, plum and dried Mediterranean herbs. On the palate the aromas translate intoa similar flavour profile that expand into a rich fruit character tha hints of black currant, cherry and raspberrry which is supported by the ripe tannins.

Tiny crop, like half what I’d normally make but wow, its a beautiful wine, the effusive cherried-ness of sangiovese is here in a darker, brooding form, there’s crushed leaf and spice with that taught acid frame we know so well, lovely now with some aeration but will handle five years to show itself more completely

5-star winery Winery Region: Adelaide Hills, SA
The right balance between Shiraz and Sangiovese was key in making this wine where both varieties can be seen and heard, yet at the same time not dominate, as was the percentage of new to old oak - where it can be seen but not heard, if you know what I mean. 88% Shiraz / 12% Sangiovese
