Overview of Grampians Estate

Established: 1989
Winemaker: Hamish Seabrook, Don Rowe, Tom Guthrie
Annual Cases: 1200
Region: Grampians
Grampians Estate's Mafeking vineyard was established in 1989, with the first wines being produced in 1995. Recently it took over the former Garden Gully vineyard at Great Western, the 5 ha vineyard comprising shiraz vines dating back to 1878 and 80 year old riesling vines. The 3.2 ha Mafeking vineyard grows Shiraz and Chardonnay and is located on "Thermopylae", a sheep farming property producing wool and prime lamb on the eastern foothills of the Grampians National Park in the picturesque Mafeking valley.

Over the last decade, Grampians Estate has won many awards (including 28 trophies to 2010)for its Shiraz, Sparkling Shiraz, Chardonnay and riesling wines. The streeton Reserve shiraz and Rutherford Sparkling Shiraz have become the flagbearers for the label.

The Cellar Door is called the Grampians Estate Great Western Wine Centre and is located at 1477 Western Highway, Great Western, Victoria 3377.
