From a low yielding, warm vintage. It is a very perfumed wine with generous fruit flavours, a touch of spice and background oak. The palate shows some good complexity with charcuterie, some choc-vanilla, cedar and earth. James Halliday (2013): 96 points

A dense and plush Cabernet Sauvignon which is balanced by freshness and acidity. High toned fruit aromas of mulberry, cassis and black cherry are interwoven with black liquorice, graphite and a granite like minerality. The tannins are firm, offering a substantial, yet refined velvety grip, which is carried by a staggering array of red and blackberry flavours.

James Halliday (2011):Still dense purple-crimson; the intense bouquet ranges through blackberry, blackcurrant, plum and earth; the full-bodied palate following suit, the oak certainly adding to the equation, but integrated; the tannins are ripe, but like the oak, are fused with the fruit. 94 points

"Bright purple-crimson; an intensely flavoured and very long palate, with berry fruits, mainly black, spice and pepper has been achieved with effortless ease; 18 months maturation in French and American oak has simply provided the means to achieve this. Will be very long lived. Alc 13.8 Rating 96 points. Drink to 2032."

James Halliday (2012): "An amalgam of savoury restraint and complexity, and powerfully concentrated fruit; grapefruit, charcuterie, struck match and toasty oak all have a part to play; the palate is raw in its power, long, expansive and a take no prisoners approach to the variety; done impressively, and done well. Screwcap."

Blueberry spice, lashings of red liquorice, dark chocolate and ripe dark plum flesh opening up to reveal complex black olive, peat and aniseed. James Halliday (2011) "Deep, dense, purple-crimson, exceptional for a five-year-old wine; has everything expected of a great Australian red destined for a long life - other than a screwcap - with an opulent array of black fruits, ripe tannins and quality oak. Premium Shiraz
Sophia Seppelt was winemaker's, Andrew Seppelt’s great, great grandmother, a woman of enormous influence that was the unsung strength behind the success of the Seppelt family wine enterprise in the early 1900’s. This Shiraz blend is a style that Andrew believes Sophia would have liked, rich and full bodied with gentle fruit character on the palate and an alluring finish.

Pale straw in colour. A lifted bouquet displaying lychee, guava and fresh, raw coconut. The palate offers intense sherbet, pineapple and limóncello, leading to a zippy, citrus finish. This wine would match perfectly with seafood, or being so light and crisp, can be enjoyed by itself.

Intense aromas of dark chocolate, coffee, and ripe blackberry with some spicy black pepper evident. Palate is spicy and full with mocca, cherry ripe dark chocolate, liquorice and coffee on well balanced tannins, showing sensitive use of French oak barriques with 20% American oak. The finish is our typical, regional spicy with a lingering fruity dry finish. Will develop over the next 10 years. Gold Medal, Hobart International James Halliday (2012): 95 points

The terroir of Margaret River is perfect for Cabernet Sauvignon, since it needs constant sunshine to ensure a full ripening period, which is virtually guranteed due to the consistency of the climate. Cabernet Sauvignon is rarely made on its own to such character, intensity and finesse in Margaret River. An exceptional site in the Denbarker sub-region was chosen for its beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon. Its continentality, or distance from the ocean, ensures a slow ripening vital for maximum flavour development and retention. Cassis, raspberry and anise are interwoven with mocha and cedar from eighteen months ageing in the finest French oak. Supple and finely structured it offers superb drinking now, but will develop more complexity with 8-10 years in the cellar. James Halliday: 95 points

The fruit for this wine is from a mature low yielding vineyard in the Albany sub-region, the cool climate moderated by the maritime influence of the southern ocean.
It is fine and elegant with opulent citrus and exotic fruit with creamy, nutty complexity coming from fermentation and maturation on yeast lees for 10 months in French oak barrels, 40% of which were new. A lovely wine to drink in its youth but 4-5 years bottle age will allow more richness and depth to develop. Halliday: 95 points
