From the Revee Estate vineyard in Tumbarumba, the 2014 Chardonnay is a well-balanced wine with melons and flesh fruit combining with 30% MLF to create an amazing fruit and honey nose. 20 months in two year old oak adds a layer of texture to the wine and the natural Tumbarumba acids keep the palate long and fresh.

2016 A.Retief Tumbarumba Sauvignon Blanc (RRP $28.00)
Made in the traditional 'Bordeaux style', fermented and matured in French oak barriques with 12 months on yeast lees, the wine has an extra level of structure and complexity. The nose is one of stone fruit, guava and melon with a palate that is lightly textured leading to a long fresh finish that is clean and dry. This is the style of Sauvignon Blanc that really shows what the grape can do!

2013 A.Retief Hilltops 'The Alias' Mataro (RRP $40.00)
Light in colour, but medium to full in body, the wine displays a nose that is deep and brambly, full of red-currants and fruits, while the palate dances with a vibrant and bright rhubarb mid-palate that grows with a smokey – savoury backbone and a rich, full mouth-feel, continuing on with a long, lingering finish. There is a great balance to the wine with a gamey, rhubarb length and breadth.

2015 A.Retief Mataro Grenache Shiraz blend (RRP $28.00)
Sourced from the Mokhinui Vineyard in the Hilltops and the Winbirra vineyard in Gundagai, the MGS blend is looking at the traditional Chateau Neuf de Pape / Bandol style. Made for the warmer weather, the aromatics are perfumed with floral and spicy notes. The palate is light to medium- rich red berry flavours coupled with hints of dry spice including cumin and star anise.

Sourced from the Mokhinui vineyard in the Hilltops, Petit Verdot is one of those varieties that needs a long growing season to appear balanced and approachable. The nose is a bright mix of pot-pouri, violets and red fruits, while the palate has an intensity of rhubarb, pomegranate and blueberry / fine chocolate tannins.

2015 A.Retief Tempranillo (RRP $40.00)
The 2015 Tempranillo has a nose of red fruits spice and brambles and the palate is soft yet full. Hints of jam and dark berries with a beautiful balance of oak, fruit and acid with the typical pinch of all spice giving the length at the back of the palate. Technically a Crianza style having been matured for 18 months in oak, it is balanced without big drying tannins.

As always, this is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and I love the mouthfeel, texture and structure the wine has. Not a light style at all- there is a good acid presence and light tannins. Bright mid-palate with a long, fresh finish.
