Staniford Great Southern Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
(RRP $38.00)
An exceptional site in the Denbarker sub-region was chosen for its beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon. Its continentality, or distance from the ocean, ensures a slow ripening vital for maximum flavour development and retention. Cassis, raspberry and anise are interwoven with mocha and cedar from eighteen months ageing in the finest French oak. Supple and finely structured it offers superb drinking now, but will develop more complexity with 8-10 years in the cellar. James Halliday: 95 points

Staniford Great Southern Reserve Chardonnay 2010
(RRP $38.00)
The fruit for this wine is from a mature low yielding vineyard in the Albany sub-region, the cool climate moderated by the maritime influence of the southern ocean.
It is fine and elegant with opulent citrus and exotic fruit with creamy, nutty complexity coming from fermentation and maturation on yeast lees for 10 months in French oak barrels, 40% of which were new. A lovely wine to drink in its youth but 4-5 years bottle age will allow more richness and depth to develop. Halliday: 95 points
