Section 400 Pinot Noir (RRP $22.00)
Fruit for the Section 400 Pinot Noir is sourced from a number of premium Adelaide Hills Vineyards. A combination of east and north facing slopes with different clonal material produce distinctly different flavours which combine to complement each other in the final wine. The 2010/11 growing season produced cooler than average ripening conditions allowing elegant and varietal flavour development at lower alcohols.

The palate is full bodied with intense fruit flavours reminiscent of Cabernet, cassis, mulberry and tomato bush with hints of mint. Balanced acidity and great fruit length give the wine liveliness and when combined with the firm and velvety tannins of Cabernet give great depth and longevity to the wine. Generous upfront fruits, distinct primary fruit of plums with hints of stewed raspberries. Good savoury characters from the oak are balanced and well integrated with the fruit. Acid is lively and well balanced. Savoury tannins complement the fruit and persist onto the finish of the wine. It is drinking well now and will improve with careful cellaring over the next 5-10 years.
